HOW TO SAVE A FILE OR DOCUMENT INTO AN EXTERNAL STORAGE DEVICE, USING EXPORT COMMAND

Export command could be used to transfer a file or document to any folder or directory as the case may be. But mainly used in transferring heavier files which could not be transferred to diskette or to any other external storage device using Save or Save As command. Any file been transferred using Export command can only be retrieved or opened by Import command.

v Create or open the existing file you intend to transfer
v Insert the drive or disk into it’s appropriate drive or port
v On the File menu, click on Export
v An Export dialog box is displayed on the screen
v Click to specify the directory of the disk in use e.g. 3.5 floppy (A:) or drive E: Or D:

v  Locate file name and type in your file name
v Click on Export in the dialog box
v A convert to Bitmap dialog box appears on the screen

Note: Any file that has been exported cannot be edited or changed, that is; attempting to change the colour or its original font. The steps mentioned above can only be applied when exporting to a disk of low capacity like diskette (3.5 inch) and is strictly on the size of the document or file.
