In a bid to ensure transparency, credibility and accountability in the forthcoming Local Government Elections, Our Chairman Dr. John Tor Tsuwa today granted the request of Gender Advocacy Forum(GAF) to observe and host a Situation Room during the conduct of the June 2017 BSIEC Local Government Elections.

The Chairman, in his speech during the visit said the hosting of a Situation Room from the group outside the one to be hosted by the commission will add credibility to the process as well as help inform the Benue people about what is going on, on the day of the election.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation Ms Elizabeth Jeiyol stated that the aim of the Forum is to ensure women mainstreaming and that the Gender Advocacy Situation Room will help monitor the election processes particularly as it affects women, youth and the vulnerable people who are expected to participate in the election.

According to Ms Jeiyol, the Gender Advocacy Forum(GAF) has been in the forefront of advocating, mobilizing resources, building stakeholders capacity and campaigning towards enhancing the participation of women in politics in Benue State.

The Situation Room is scheduled to be hosted at the Conference Hall of the Doo Palace Hotels, Makurdi for the period of the election.
