The Nigeria Police is overjoyed over the arrest of the most notorious
kidnapper in Nigeria who "collected several billions of naira as
ransom in the last seven years".
His real name is Chukwudidumeme Onwuamadike aka Evans, a native of
Nnewi in Nnewi North LGA of Anambra state and he is 36 years old.
Available information says he was the leader of a notorious kidnapping
gang that operated in FESTAC, Amuwo Odofin and Ojo areas of Lagos.
He is reported to have held some of his victims hostage for six to
seven months in captivity until their families pay between N300 to
N400 million naira ransom in several Installments before they regain
their freedom.
Several wealthy Nigerians living in Festac and Amuwo Odofin areas of
Lagos are reported to have relocated to Ikoyi, Lekki and Victoria
Island and environs, leaving their mansions empty because of Evans,
the kingpin.
Whistleblowers told the Police that he has a kidnapping gang that
operates in Port Harcourt, Bayelsa and Warri area of Delta state.
He is said to also be the mastermind and only survivor in the
attempted kidnapping of Chief Vincent Obianudo, owner of Young Shall
Grow Motors in Festac, Lagos which occurred in August, 2013.
