YOUTH EMPOWERMENT WILL BE A PRIORITY - Hon Uaah

Today, addressing news men at the BSIEC office in Makurdi immediately
after collecting his certificate of return, Hon Vitalis Terna Uaah
reemphasized his commitment towards youth development and empowerment.
Hon Uaah stressed that his resolve has always been to develop the
youth the best way possible in order to forestall restiveness and
eradicate social vices.

He also identified agriculture as one area he would want to create
impact. Facilitating fertilizer distribution to farmers of the local
government, agricultural extension programmes and enlightenments are
key areas he noted for attention.

Speaking further, the chairman elect, boasted that his combing of the
rural settlements of the local government gives him ample knowledge of
the needs of every community and that he will strive to ensure that
those needs are met where possible.

On the issue of insecurity owing to headsmen attacks, he deflated the
allegations by pressmen that chiefs of the locality have been
collecting money from Fulanis to allow them sojourn on their lands. He
reduced their statements to mere allegations that should be subjected
to intense verifications. He promised to aid in the implementation of
the anti Open grazing and rearing law within his locality and also
ensure that his people were law abiding.

He also thanked the people of Gwer local government for giving him the
mandate and the Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom who provided the
resources and environment for a peaceful election.
