THE DEPARTURE OF A HERO BY ANI MIRACLE NGOZI

Oh, how precious and kind
you are to me.
Being a man of peace and harmony.
With all my zeal
I am not ashamed to be your
grand-daughter being happy and lucky.

But at your age of
Seventy, something wondered
me about your life
you think of having another
wife after the death of your first wife.
But there is no achievement made.

At your age of eighty, you
started looking for whom to marry
But there is no hope.
At the same time getting to your old age
I was confused about your suggestion.
At the old age you still
think of having a wife.

Oh, is that how I will miss you?
The time I need you most, all the
Promises you made, now where
are you to fulfill them
is that how the world use to be?

I am totally disappointed
But I can't question God for that
Good night Grand pa.
