Benue’s 5th COVID-19 Case Flees After Testing Positive.

A yam trader from Jortar in Ukum LG of Benue state fled after testing positive to Covid 19.The man whose names were given as Masefan Ayilaga has a history of traveling from Kano to Ukum for business transaction.

He was suspected of COVID-19 after recent trip he made to Kano.The Covid 19 team on getting information asked him to come to Makurdi for testing ,He left Zaki Biam and came to Makurdi via public Transport for the testing.

His sample was taken and he traveled back to Zaki Biam via public transport.Yesterday his result came back positive.He was nowhere to be found.The man could not be evacuated from Ukum to Makurdi because he did not return from the local market he went to.

The Covid 19 team who went to pick the man in his village in Ukum were informed that the patient went to theMarket ,They decided to wait for the man to close from Market but he did not return home.As at the time of filling this report,all his numbers are all switched off.

The state team has advised anybody who has been in contact with him should come forward for testing.
