Hon. Abiola Makinde & Dr.Mrs Rhoda Makinde |
Hon. Abiola Makinde made it known to the newsmen that our teachers out there need financial help especially the private school teachers who have not received salaries due to the lockdown and shut down of schools amidst COVID-19 uncertainties in the country, having heard their pains and voice on different social media platforms.
He said "Initially, we planned to support just 100 teachers, but from the feedback we got through comments and messages, we increased it to 600 teachers. After thorough screening of the teachers through the evidences they sent via our inbox, we were able to select 600 teachers fairly, to be given ₦5,000 each".
The payment will be in three batches, the first batch 1 - 200 to be paid this weekend, the second batch 201 - 400 to be paid next weekend and the last batch 401 - 600 to be paid the following weekend.
Hon. Dr. Abiola Makinde therefore encouraged the teachers to manage this token and see this period as a trying time, as he implore other stake holders to come to the rescue of private school teachers.
