Deola Aina Cosmetics by Deola Aina is the new makeup line on the block

Deola Aina has no doubt made a name for herself as a beauty and skincare guru. The makeup artist has now added to her list of ventures a self-titled cosmetics line.

She announced the launch of her cosmetics line two years ago in an Instagram post which she followed up this year with a detailed unveiling on Youtube.

What is your earliest memory of beauty and makeup?

I did not necessarily grow up around makeup. I did, however, have an aunt and who I watched doing her makeup occasionally and I was intrigued. When I was young, I never felt beautiful. And as I struggled to find a sense of both inner and outer beauty, I discovered the power of makeup. My love for makeup was nurtured mostly by watching beauty vloggers on YouTube and magazines.

How would you describe yourself?
I’d say I’m a dreamer, non-conformist, someone who thinks outside the box and a hard worker.
Do you think easy access to information and the rise of social media has changed the way we approach beauty?

No, I don’t think it has. I approach beauty the way I do because I am who I am. Everyone has their own unique approach to makeup and beauty because of what it does for them. Makeup and beauty like everything else are dependent on the individual.

Are your products made from organic ingredients?
They are not, but they are cruelty-free…
Who are your muses when it comes to makeup?

I’m inspired by Jackie Aina but I can get inspiration from anyone especially if I like what they’ve done with their makeup.
How long did it take to develop your makeup line?
I started actively working towards launching this year May. I launched with a collection I call “She’s all African Collection”, the first of many to come. “The She’s all African Collection” contains an eye shadow palette with 18 amazing shades that you can use to create so many different looks, four lipgloss, two shades of brows pencil. It also comes with five matte liquid lipsticks
