EEZZ: Champion don land!

Who be that board man, baba understand, dog fit bite Akwa-Ibom Man... Zinedine Zidane

EEZZ & HitSound

They say the new normal is being abnormal and EEZZ’s new song romanticizes this adage.  We are meant to believe “Zinedine Zidane” is a track from EEZZ’s upcoming album.

With the production of the song chaired by HitSound the Producer, there was no expectation of a mediocre output. Personifying football playing position (10) as Zinedine Zidane tells you how Indomitable EEZZ perceives himself.

The song is a 2:19 minutes-street-conscious and unrestrained lyrically braggadocios song. In a Hip-Hop/Drill genre that is relatively new in the Nigerian music ecosystem, EEZZ is gradually taking a commanding position. Since Kalambolo became a hit while attracting Dan Dizzy, the tides have taken a new turn for the rising crooner.

Zinedine Zidane is a song commanding a streetwise thematic preoccupation of “do me I do you, man no go vex” motive. It hinges on street organogram (I dey para for you, you dey talk, you dey craze, you dey mad, e be like you dey bobo ciga). He insists he is a champion carrying “10” for back, Zinedine Zidane. It is normal to be obsessed with our alter ego, but it is special if you can tap into it.

Discipleship and staunch brotherhood are a headline in the skeleton of the lyrics (As we lap with the Arsenal, all of them know to say them be gunners, I tell you before-all my men we be ballers). The conscious use of “We” is a reminder that, if you touch one, you touch all, and at that point, there is basically an unavoidable consequence.

“Baba understand, Dog fit bite Akwa Ibom man”. This remains the biggest lesson to behold from this song. Sometimes, what you love can still destroy you. Sometimes, what you destroy, may as well destroy you. It is a way of saying the bushmeat may as well catch the hunter.

EEZZ and HitSound’s collaboration seemed to be intense and catchy, it should only get better from here.
