[Press Release] Democracy Day: Region Youths Salute Selfless Nigerians, Make Case on Security, Call for Observerance of FCC ACT

DEMOCRACY DAY: REGION YOUTHS SALUTE SELFLESS NIGERIANS,  MAKE CASE ON SECURITY, CALL FOR OBSERVERANCE OF FCC ACT.                                         

The above name organization under the leadership of Amb.  Olasunkanmi John Kolawole, the Speaker North Central Youth Assembly of Nigeria NCYAN join the president, Federal Republic of Nigeria, president Muhammadu Buhari,  North Central Governor's Forum NCGF under the leadership of His Excellency Gov.  Bello Sani, the Regions National and state legislators, Traditional Rulers, stake holders of the region and Nigerians to celebrate the first Democracy Day of it kind in the history of our dear country after the day was formally declared a public Holiday by President Muhammadu Buhari on the 07/06/2019 during the signing in to law Public Holiday Amendment Bill.                        

NCYAN call on Nigerians irrespective of region to tole the path of  MKO Abiola the Hero of June12, get involve and engage in the cause of Nation building.  For without getting involved the government of the people by the people and for the people will continue to be just words, we recognize and adore the selfless spirit and energy of young Nigerians,  experience of the old in building a Nigeria of our dream and task key actors of the region economy to help selflessly and cheerfully in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic, not forgetting the precautionary measures put in place by Nigerian Center for Disease Control.

Furthermore, we call on president Buhari to ensure his political appointments, contracts, security votes, National income and grants from Nations and good citizens reflect Federal Character Commission FCC Act No34 of the 1999 constitution as amended in sections 14 and 153 that consolidated the establishment of the FCC for operation in a democratic system of Government. Were the National Cake is shared equally and not as marginally done by his administration to the North Central Region. NCYAN note with great depression and anxiety the section tricks used by president Buhari in appointing heads of governance as follows : South West  33.7%, South South 12.6%, South East 7.9% , North West 19.5%, North East 15.3% and North Central 11.1% which is against the sharing formula. We therefore, call on mr. President as a matter of gracious urgency to appoint capable and able North Central youths and experienced hands from the region in his government to equate that of South West.                 

As an advocate of good governance,  we are concerned about the baffling and growing insecurity in the region and we use this opportunity to beckon on Mr. President to act fast and stop herdsmen crisis, Assassins,  Isis,  Incessant killings, Kidnapping, Armed banditry and Boko Haram terrorism in the country,  while Calling on the Niger State Governor and Chairman North Central Governor's Forum NCGF  H. E Gov.  Bello Sani  to rally his counterparts to curtail the incessant killings ,Kidnapping, Armed bandits, Herdsmen crisis and assassins that has become a daily occurrence in the zone.                       

In closing,  as you step out tomorrow to be part of this historic day, may the Almighty God guide and protect you in all your endeavors and bless your paths with Success.
