Aspiring Music Artiste Turned Top-tier Comedian “Rapindady” is Back With Another Show, Spartacus 8

Mr. Jolomi Raphael Oluwafemi also known as Rapindady, is a stand up comedian who can as well be regarded as an event planner, event compere, On Air Personality and a businessman.

He bagged a Higher National Diploma in Electrical Electronics Engineering from Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti, and attended Ajayi Crowther University where he earned a bachelors degree in Computer Science.

Comedy, according to Rapindady, is all about passing across a message of happiness, “like a mandate given by nature to some special kind of people to bless the world with joy and laughter.”

Rapindady, whose childhood experience was a bit rough and interesting, lived in about three different states- Lagos, Cross River and Delta- before becoming a teenager. He wasn’t born with a silver spoon as he is a product of a polygamous home where peace and hurly-burly take turns- Growing up for him was quite an interesting adventure.

Oluwafemi, who ventured into comedy at the early stage, has been a very jovial person that feels a sense of fulfillment whenever people around him are happy. He decided to take that gift to the next level by becoming a standup comedian.

Oluwafemi took the decision to go into full time entertainment in 2012 during his NYSC program in Ibadan, Oyo state capital. Then, he was the CDS Chairman at Ibadan North West LGA CDS, where he was saddled with the responsibility of ensuring that corpers stay happy while attending CDS. Despite various challenges, he was able to perform so well in cracking them up weekly. That was how he started going for events.

Rapindady’s first official performance at an event in 2010, which was his first paid job, earned him N500 and two bags of sachet water, for performing extremely well.

Oluwafemi, who described his goals as endless, claimed to have achieved the goal of being among the biggest names in the Ibadan comedy industry.

He wants to be “a man capable of helping other young entertainers grow their crafts”. Beyond entertainment, he believes he can be the next Dangote or Otedola as he looks forward to becoming a global business man someday.

His role models in the comedy industry are comedian AY, Koffi tha Guru, Lafup among many others.

“They are both very strong entertainers. I love them because they are very focused, family oriented, business minded. They possess great leadership skills. You can easily learn from them by their actions and works.

“Lafup is another man I love, he will never give up, the way he climbed the ladder to the top is quite logical and interesting. He is one of the few who gives me the courage that education is important if you want to be a good entertainer”, he expressed.

According to Rapindady, if he didn’t venture into comedy, he would have been a music artist as he did more of music in school and was famous in song writing and composition back then- music was his first love.

“I am one of the few event planners who only believe in excellent stage delivery/performance. I scout a lot for entertainers that are doing extremely great. Most of these guys are not very famous but they are extremely talented. I always love to bring them to my audience to feel the difference.

“The next edition of my concert RAPINDADY LIVE (spartacus 8) will parade some very crazy gentlemen. And I am very convinced that my audience will get value for their money,” Oluwafemi made known.
