SPEECH DELIVERED AT THE PRESS CONFERENCE FOR AMUWO ODOFIN INFLUENTIAL 50, YOUTH EDITION

You welcome to the eventual success of the 3rd Edition of Amuwo Odofin Influential 50.
INTRODCUTION:
The Alpha group in any society can be referred to as the dominant group of people who are most times saddled with the responsibility of coordinating the direction and accomplishments of the group. The success and failure of the group lies in their hands. Other members in the group in exchange for security and survival pledge their loyalty to the Alpha Group and submit themselves to the instructions of the Alphas.
Amuwo Odofin Influential 50 was designed to identify those categories of people who champion the growth and development of Amuwo Odofin Local Government. Our Alphas…
The one-day event is organized with the intention of recognizing and celebrating the contributions of the Alphas in making our community a better society.
The first edition took place in 2019, the 2020 edition was significant because it was used to identify the selfless heroic sacrifices undertaken by the alphas in providing palliatives and support to the vulnerable groups during the outbreak of the pandemic. It is noteworthy to mention here that the Governor of Lagos State, Bababjide Sanwo-Olu the Incident Commander and his deputy Incident Commander, Pro. Akin Abayomi, the Honorable Commissioner of Health were duly recognized as Heroes of the Pandemic in overcoming the unknown enemy called COVID-19 across the State and Amuwo Odofin in particular.
The Council Chairman Engr. Dr. Valentine Buraimoh was also captured amongst others on the list of Alpha Heroes in the 2nd Edition.
The 3RD Edition
This Edition slated for Thursday 16th of December, 2021 is tagged the Youth Edition with the caption: WHO DEY BREEET!

The Who Dey Breet edition is aimed at celebrating the resilient alphas who are currently in their prime of their lives and contributing to the positive development of the Local Government and its community at large. They should be below 50years of age and most have being actively engaging the community for a minimum of 5years.
A significant undertaking of this generation of Alphas was their interpretation of the ENDSars Saga in 2020. These alphas ensured that violence and carnage experienced in communities in most part of Nigeria did not break out in Amuwo Odofin. They mobilized their generation to protect the local government and public places against foreign elements. It is on record and worthy of mention that Amuwo Odofin was amongst the very few peaceful communities across Nigeria during the period of the ENDSars saga. The Youths did make it happen.
Over the years undoubtedly these generation of Alphas have found better and much more progressive mediums to channeling their positive energy to noble causes in the interest of the community. The Who Dey Breet edition of Amuwo Odofin Influential 50 seeks to celebrate this outstanding ones while challenging others by a clarion call to join the generation of Alphas that will continue to push for the growth of Amuwo Odofin.
We therefore seize the opportunity the of Press present to invite the Governor of Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to join the people of Amuwo Odofin Local Government to the 16TH of December in recognizing and celebrating the youths of Amuwo Odofin and its Alphas.
Nomination channels and social media platforms for deserving 50 Influential Youth is already open to the public especially the Amuwo Odofin community to decides. A forensic screening of the nominated list will produce the 50 most influential youth which will then be administered for award of recognition.
On this note we appeal to you distinguished media to take our story to the world: Amuwo Odofin through Amuwo Odofin Influential 50 is set to celebrate its Alphas, the most influential amongst its youth, WHO DEY BREET!
